One of the main reasons why people buy organic is to avoid pesticides. Who needs pesticides when we know that there are healthier and safer ways to grow fruits and vegetables!
The Environmental Working Group (a hard working non-profit research organization that “uses the power of information to protect human health and the environment”) made it easier for shoppers to avoid pesticides with their latest updated Shopper’s Guide..
This handy, wallet sized guide was developed by EWG from data collected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration from tests for pesticide residues in produce from 2000 to 2007. First published in 1995, The Shopper’s Guide is now in its 5th edition which includes updated pesticide information.
The Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides is available to download for printing out to carry in your wallet to take shopping with you.
